Moving to Write
Dear Parents and Carers
The children in Class 1 are participating in an intervention programme called Moving to Write. The programme aims to develop pre-writing skills through gross and fine motor activities.
I have attached an information sheet and a YouTube link with further details about the programme, which has been created by Karen Cove an early years advisor at Westmorland and Furness Council and Zena Cassells, an occupational therapist. I encourage you to watch this 20-minute video. This programme is usually aimed at nursery-aged children, but we are giving the reception children the opportunity to participate too. The activities are fun and very engaging.

We will send home a sheet with follow-up activities that you can do with your children at home. We undertook our first session today and will repeat this session again next week so that all children who were not in have the opportunity to do the program.
