Information Letter Class 2
I hope everyone had a good week off. The children have been keen and eager to learn so we have all ‘hit the ground running.’ We started the week by learning how to write a recount and the children have written their half-term news. They have been measuring in maths and in history learning about Guy Fawkes.
The theme for this half term is ‘Food.’ We will be learning about food in our locality and around the world. If there are any talented chefs or bakers out there who would like to share their knowledge and skills I would love to hear from you.
Phonics Screening
The Phonics Screening Check did not take place in Summer 2021 due to Covid-10. All year 2 pupils will be taking the check this half term on Wednesday 24th November. The Year 1 children will be taking the test in the Summer term of 2022.
The PowerPoint presentation we usually do in school is attached to this email and below are the links to a training video and some resources that you can use to support your children at home as well as some example screening materials;

Trip
We would like to take the children on a trip to learn more about food.
On Thursday 25th November we have arranged a trip to Madam Chocolat in Milnthorpe. This will take place in the morning and has been funded by PTA. We are looking for volunteers to help with transport and stay during the sessions, if you are available please let me know.
Kind regards,
Mrs Robinson
