I hope and trust that everyone is still well.
It’s really great having so many of our key worker and Year 6, Year 1, Reception and Nursery children back with us and the school being noisy and looking full! You would have noticed that the groundworks are well under- way for the new gazebo and the extension of the playground – the gazebo will be being installed from July 20th. The next job will be the new classroom!
It had always been my intention to try to open the school fully to all children for the last two weeks of term. On Tuesday the staff and some of the Governors met and discussed the possibility of this happening. After looking closely at the Government’s and County’s recommendations, alongside the school’s risk assessments for the current situation, it is with deepest regret that I have to tell you that we cannot re-open the school fully to all children. I am very sorry about this.
As a result, I would like to invite the children from Years 5, 4, 3 and 2 back to school on different afternoons (please see below) to catch up with their friends and the staff and carry out some activities on the field. We will, of course, be observing social distancing wherever possible and will not exceed the maximum limit of 15 children in a bubble.
If your child would like to come in on the afternoon listed below, then just let me know! They can wear their own clothes and the sessions will run from 1:00pm until 2:30pm. We have a one way system operating in school, so please use the main path down to the office and then leave through the staff car park. We will meet the children and take them round to the field.
I hope as many of the children as possible can come and catch up with everyone here!
If you have any questions, then please just email or ring the office.
Many thanks and best wishes,
Simon Brabant
