The Big Tidy Up At The Railway Line

On Friday afternoon, after Warton Crag, we went down to the old railway line to tidy it up a bit by doing a litter pick. Mrs Buchanan suggested that that’s where we should go because it was the place with the most litter in Storth. We got our waterproof trousers, waterproof coat and wellies on. All of the school went apart from nursery and reception. The older ones got partnered with the smaller ones. When we got to the old railway the children and adults got split into two groups- the ones who didn’t mind walking and the ones who didn’t really like walking (Mr Brabant was in the group that didn’t really like walking no surprise then).

We started the litter pick and found lots of weird things such as an old shoe, nappies one with jelly in that had exploded, rugs, beer cans full of slush, empty alcohol bottles, bins, shovels and lots of other things.

One group found a lot more than the other. Mrs Goodfellow, Mrs Bellamy, and Mr Brabant, Mrs Chee (Alice’s mum), Mrs Craggs (Kayleigh’s mum) and Mr Goodfellow too, all came to help (and pick up the really horrible things).
